Plastic bins - the new catch-all for…well…everything!
Plastic bins are becoming the answer to many of our organizing issues. With many different sizes, shapes and sets we can custom organize anything, really. Some bins have wheels, some have holes and some have drawers. The options are endless and sometimes that in itself can become a little overwhelming.
I use plastic bins in almost every room of my home. Not only are they affordable, they are stackable and very easy to clean and reuse. Better yet, they are great for containing items that may have an odor or need to be water and pet proofed as well!
Getting started organizing with tubs is easy! Make a quick mental run down of the items you’d like to easily organize and size them up! You should be able to guess what size of bin or tub you’d like to use for the space you’d like to store it in.
For example, plastic storage bins are perfect for organizing your bathroom cabinets. Not only do they separate and contain your items, you can store much more than what you would on just the shelf top. Shampoo bottle spills? Stick that bin in the bathtub and wash it out. Now, put that bin in the bathroom closet and store your washcloths and hand towels!
Plastic bins are one of the most versatile and functional ways to organize and store any item in your house. They come in any size from super small to large enough you could use it as a crib! But please, don’t.
To get started, think about what it is you want to store or organize. Then you’ll be able to narrow down the options to a bin that will work for what you need. One of my favorites is the three-tiered box on wheels. Its portability and separate drawers help me store three different types of items and lots of them!
I’d love to read about the fun ways you’ve used plastic bins around the house, how they’ve helped you stay organized and what you might do different next time!
