I take great pride in my back yard! It’s a lot of work, but I find that maintaining it and making it pretty is both fun and therapeutic. And of course, I get numerous complements on my ability to keep my property looking great. But I have found that it is not just a matter of planting beautiful flowers and adding garden accents. Having a back yard to be proud of also means keeping things properly stored. For me, that meant finding a clever way to store chair cushions (during bad weather season), pool toys and accessories, and other things that randomly end up in the yard.

Some of the best times I have had with my father we sailing with him on his boat in the San Francisco Bay. My dad discovered his love for sailing when I was about twelve years old, and it started a lifelong love of it for me as well. He started with a sixteen-foot Hobie Cat, a two hulled yellow craft with orange and brown sails (why those colors were so popular in the 1970’s is beyond me).

My friend Beatrice is a crafting maniac! Shoe does it all. Beading jewelry, scrap booking, knitting, screen printing, ceramics and even doll house building. Where this gal finds the time for all those projects, I am not quite sure. I am, however, aware of her needs for craft supply storage. With a collection of craft supplies like hers, you can’t resort to any old shoe box or chest of drawers.

Once summer has officially ended, my patio and garden areas are left in complete and utter disarray. Between the kids’ pool parties, various gardening projects and our dogs out in the yard, the whole place just looks like a bomb went off!

I had this dear old friend that had saved up all his hard earned money and made a move to the big city, Cleveland. The only problem was, he didn’t save up much money at all and had to rent the smallest apartment in the entire Midwest. “I don’t mind the size, it is cozy,” he would tell us all. Well truth be told it was not cozy at all and it had only one miniscule closet for storage.

I love the Holliday Season! I love the smell of cranberry orange bread baking, the colorful ornaments on the tree, and especially the lights! They are simply mesmerizing! As much as I love them once they’re up, the most difficult of all my Christmas decorations to deal with are those strands of lights. I’ve been through too many years of trying to unwind tangles balls of wire and lights to do it any longer.

1 – Seasoning Packet Storage –
I love to use a small plastic bin to put all my seasoning packets in. For the most part they are the same size and it’s easy to keep them all in one spot together. The bin fits nicely in the cabinet and takes up little space. You [...]
